Tropical Primer Sealer (TPS) (Berger)

Tropical Primer Sealer (TPS) by Berger is a premium water-based or solvent-based primer designed for new masonry, concrete, and cement plaster substrates, making it highly effective for both interior and exterior surfaces in tropical climates. This primer forms a tough, flexible, and protective seal that resists moisture and alkali, which prevents salts in new plaster from seeping through and damaging your final paint layers. By filling microscopic pores to provide a uniform surface and serving as a strong foundational tie-coat, it significantly enhances paint adhesion to prevent peeling and flaking. For the best results, the surface must be completely clean, dry, and cured for at least 30 to 90 days before application. Depending on the wall's porosity, the primer should be thinned by 10% to 20% by volume with clean water or mineral turpentine, then applied evenly with a high-quality brush or roller, followed by a second coat once the first has completely dried. With a typical coverage of 10 to 12 square meters per liter depending on the substrate's roughness, TPS provides a reliable, long-lasting foundation for any subsequent topcoats.
