Nippon Coloured Undercoat

Nippon Paint Coloured Undercoat is a specialized high-opacity oil-based primer undercoat from the Nippon Paint Surface Preparation Range, designed specifically for wood and metal surfaces. It provides a tinted foundation layer that complements the final enamel topcoat, helping achieve a richer, more uniform finish with fewer finishing coats, especially when applying bright or deep colors. Its high-opacity pigment system effectively covers old shades, dark surfaces, and uneven wooden grain while improving the overall appearance of the final coating. The excellent flow and self-levelling properties help fill minor scratches and surface imperfections, creating a smooth matte base with strong adhesion for subsequent paint layers. It also provides additional protection against moisture and mild corrosion, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications on steel structures, wooden doors, cabinets, window trims, and gates. The undercoat can be applied using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with suitable thinning, and its fast-drying formulation allows efficient recoating before applying the final enamel finish.
